You Can Only Walk So Far in Both Directions Before You Reach Water

You Can Only Walk so Far in Both Directions Before You Reach Water is a series of photographs that relies on serendipity and coincidental moments as I am wandering the city. This process allows oneself to get lost and see what can be found, using my observation skills to capture these non-fantastical moments that would otherwise go unnoticed to most. The photographs are a result of recognizing the world around me as an impermanent place, for instance, a ray of light streaming across a metal gate or a snowman that is slowly melting away. Much of what I find will only exist temporarily in the world similar to mortality or even physical surroundings, nothing in life is ever truly permanent. While wandering, usually on my own without others around, I am searching, discovering, and lingering, while on these mini journeys. In this project, my goal is to confront the uncontrollable in everyday explorations.
